Aqua-Trek Beqa is dedicated to providing unforgettable dive experiences while promoting marine conservation.
Their team of Fijian dive masters shares a deep respect for sharks, rooted in the traditional belief in Dakuwaqa, the Shark God who protects Fiji’s waters.
As pioneers of shark diving in Fiji, Aqua-Trek established the Fiji Shark Conservation and Sustainable Tourism Program in 1999. Working closely with the Fijian government and local villages, they helped protect Beqa Lagoon’s reefs, which were declared Marine Protected Areas in 2006. A portion of dive fees supports village education and community development, and many team members come from these communities.
Beyond tourism, Aqua-Trek actively campaigns against shark fishing and finning to preserve the marine ecosystem. Their mission is to make sharks more valuable alive than dead through conservation, education, and sustainable tourism. Visitors are invited to experience world-class diving and support vital marine protection efforts.
