Elephant Conservation Center

Sayaboury, Laos

The Elephant Conservation Center (ECC) in Laos is dedicated to the protection and welfare of Asian elephants, combining conservation, research, and education in its mission.

As the only facility in Laos with a breeding program and successful rewilding efforts, ECC plays a critical role in preserving this endangered species. The Center focuses on the "7 Rs" – Rescue, Rehabilitate, Reproduce, Reherd, Rewild, Research, and Respect.

Tourists can support this vital project by visiting the ECC, located in the land of elephants, and joining our 2-day, 3-day, or 7-day programs. During their stay, visitors can observe elephants in their natural habitat, learn about elephant biology, and contribute to the center’s ongoing efforts. The ECC also conducts research through its on-site laboratories and collaborates with regional universities, while training rangers to protect wild elephants in Nam Pouy National Park.
